Let your voice be heard

This is where you get to record your version of our radio commercial. You don’t need to be a tech wizard but you do need to follow the instructions below carefully. If you’re one of the lucky ones selected, you’ll feature in our nation-wide radio campaign next month. The world’s first radio commercial produced entirely online right here in Ireland!

  1. First off, you need two important things, both of which are probably already on your computer. The first is the latest version of “Flash” and the second is a microphone. You’ll know if you have the latest version of Flash – if you don’t a link will appear telling you how to download it. Secondly, if you don’t already have an in-built microphone on your computer – you’ll need to plug one in.
  2. Take the time to read and rehearse the radio script shown opposite.
  3. A message will pop up from www.evoca.com warning that you may be recorded, press the 'Allow' button.
  4. When you’re ready to record – press the red record button. Read naturally and clearly and if possible leave a small gap in between the sentences.
  5. When you’re done, stop the recording by clicking the pause button and then listen back to your recording (the play button)
  6. If you're happy with your recording then input your e-mail address, put your name and your hometown in the message box and then press send.

Now, go and make yourself a nice cup of tea and celebrate the start of your career in radio! By the time you've made your tea you should have received an e-mail to confirm that we've got your recording. If you’re one of the lucky ones selected to be a part of the radio commercial, we’ll be back in touch with you soon. Be sure to join the ThinkIrish.ie conversation on Facebook too – as we’ll be keeping supporters up-to-date throughout the process.

Radio Commercial Script:

We’re not Government.
We’re not political.
We’re not big business.
We're not happy about what's happened to our economy.
We’re not happy about the loss of jobs.
We're not happy about paying the price for the mistakes of others.
We’re getting up and doing something about it.
We're getting this airtime free to tell you about thinkirish.ie
We're asking you to get involved by choosing Irish goods and services.
We’re all switching 20 euro a week to get 20,000 people off the dole queues.
It’s that simple.
